Sir Isaac Newtons Gravity Tree

Located at Shilla Mill, and made possible through a partnership with the National Trust and Blue Diamond Garden Centres, the owners of Shilla Mill have proudly acquired an authentic sapling from Sir Isaac Newton’s legendary Gravity Tree at Woolsthorpe Manor in Lincolnshire. One of only ten in the world—and the only one in Cornwall—this remarkable tree was officially planted during a ceremony attended by local dignitaries in October 2023. Guests staying at Shilla Mill Camping can book a private viewing of this living piece of scientific history with the owners, Alison and James.
